Privacy policy
This policy explains how Wilshire Intelligence Network (“WIN,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information. It applies to this website, wilshirenetwork.com, and to information you share with us by email or in conversations about a potential transaction. We are a management-services organization based in Los Angeles, California, and this policy is governed by California law.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what you give us and what a website ordinarily records:
Information you provide. Your name, email address, and the contents of your correspondence with us. If you choose to discuss your practice, that may include business information such as the size, staffing, and financial profile of your firm. We never ask for client records or taxpayer information, and you should not send them.
Information collected automatically. Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the date and time of visits. We also use PostHog, a website analytics service, to understand how this site is used: pages viewed, referring source, general location derived from your IP address, and device and browser type. PostHog sets a first-party cookie so that repeat visits from the same browser are not counted twice. We also use the ChatGPT Ads measurement pixel, provided by OpenAI, to tell whether a visit or an enquiry followed an advertisement placed in ChatGPT; it records the page visited, a pseudonymous identifier, and conversion events such as a booked call or a submitted note. Beyond that pixel, this site does not use advertising trackers, and we do not build marketing profiles from analytics data.
Information from others. If a broker introduces us, we receive the information the broker chooses to share, under the confidentiality terms of that introduction.
2. How we use it
We use personal information to respond to you, to evaluate and negotiate potential transactions, to keep our records accurate, to operate and secure this website, and to comply with law. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build marketing profiles.
If you tell us you do not want to hear from us, we honor that permanently. See our no-contact page: one email and you are removed, no questions asked.
3. We do not sell personal information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”). We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
4. When we share information
We share personal information only with: (a) service providers who host our website, email, website analytics, and advertising measurement under contractual confidentiality obligations; (b) our professional advisors — lawyers and accountants — where a transaction or legal matter requires it; (c) counterparties in a transaction you are part of, with your knowledge; and (d) authorities where the law requires it.
Information shared in transaction discussions is treated as confidential. Your clients and staff hear about a sale from you, when you decide — that is a commitment, and it extends to how we handle your information.
5. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to: know what personal information we have collected about you and receive a copy; correct inaccurate personal information; delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither); limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it beyond what this policy describes); and not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request.” We will verify your identity by matching your request against the information we hold and respond within forty-five days, as the statute requires. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof of the authorization.
6. Retention
We keep correspondence and transaction records for as long as they are reasonably needed for the purpose they were collected, and afterwards as required by law or by the terms of a completed transaction. Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then deleted.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as California law requires.
8. Children
This site is directed at business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted plainly at the top of the page.
